1. Introduction

marmosaic 225mm: click for 10-fold magnification (220 kB) The marccd and marmosaic detectors are defining the standards in high-performance/high-throughput protein crystallography. They offer the lowest noise and superb data quality and have therefore become the first choice for protein crystallography synchrotron beamlines around the world.

The mosaic detectors come in 3 sizes with 225 mm, 300 mm or 325 mm square surface. The single-chip CCD detector has a round surface of 165 mm diameter. The choice of detector is mainly determined by the budget. Due to dimensions and weight only the marccd 165 and the marmosaic 225 can be mounted on a marresearch desktop beamline ® .
